| Preferred Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Ability to pass a walk test of 2 miles in 30 minutes with a 25 pound pack. Proficient in computer skills that involve Microsoft and Google software. Experience with tractor use and other large equipment is preferred. Completion of basic fire courses or ability to complete those courses - Introduction to ICS (I-100), Human Factors in Wildland Fire Service (L-180), Firefighter Training (S-130), Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior (S-190), and NIMS: An Introduction (IS-700). |

| Job Summary: The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) Biological Technician I is responsible for forest and fish propagation, fire prevention, cultivation, and harvesting activities and/or maintaining a wildlife management area. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy. |
Typical Functions:

| Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to: Large tractor operation using a variety of implements for habitat management, such as food plot establishment, fire line maintenance, fallow disking, bush hogging, etc.…prescribed fire duties at the holder and ignitor level, chainsaw operation for a variety of habitat work, herbicide use through a variety of techniques for habitat improvements, data collection for a variety of wildlife species, online/application data entry, CWD monitoring efforts, road/trail and other area maintenance, communications with area users, assistance on other areas as needed, and all other duties as assigned. |
