Must be a full-time student enrolled in the 2018 spring semester in an accredited college or university, completed a minimum of 60 semester hours as of May 1, 2018, declared a major and have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Must also meet one of the following criteria: a resident of Arkansas enrolled in any college or university; a resident foreign exchange student enrolled in an Arkansas college or university; or, a nonresident enrolled in an Arkansas college or university. Applicant must demonstrate prior coursework or knowledge related to work area. Selected intern will coordinate directly with their college or university to obtain course credit for their work.
Good verbal and written communication skills, basic computer skills, and ability to perform physical tasks.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Law Enforcement Division offers upper level and graduate students the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and experience in the Wildlife Law Enforcement Field. The selected applicant will work under coordinated direction of the Enforcement Training Administrator, Law Enforcement District Captain, and Telecommunications Supervisor performing various duties as assigned. He/she will have the opportunity to work with local Wildlife Officers in the field performing routine patrols by vehicle, boat or on foot. Theses duties may also include attending public meetings and viewing court proceedings. At no time will an applicant be involved with any potentially dangerous situations. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to learn assorted telecommunication procedures used by law enforcement application and become familiar with Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Regulations and established Law Enforcement Division procedures.
$12.75 per hour (maximum of 400 hours). Flexible work schedule available during May, June, July, and August.
